One of the newest additions to Kuala Lumpur’s ‘mallscape’, Fahrenheit 88 is a five-storeystructure that lays claim to prime real estate along Jalan Bukit Bintang. Previously known as theKL Plaza, the mall was given a RM100 million revamp since its change of ownership and itsextensive refurbishment has resulted in an uber posh retail mall that plays host to a wide varietyof sophisticated small-time boutiques.
Anchored by the flagship Malaysian store of the Japanese fashion retailer UNIQLO (also known as Yunikuro) – which occupies three floors at the far right corner of the complex – Fahrenheit 88 has snagged the top spot as one of KL’s most popular malls. A mid-range shopping centre aimed at young and trendy urbanites, Fahrenheit 88 is topped by Fahrenheit Suites – a four-star establishment that houses 85 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments along with a fitness centre and swimming pool. Additionally, the mall shares the same retail belt as Starhill Gallery and Sephora.
The entire block of buildings along this shopping strip sports the same ultra posh façade as Fahrenheit 88 – glass-and-chrome walls and colourful extra-large posters complete the mall’s exterior appearance. VINCCI – a popular Malaysian shoe retailer – occupies a two-storey corner lot at the left-hand side of the mall while Body Shop is located just beside the front entrance. Besides that, Fahrenheit 88 houses over 280 retail stores; instead of the designer fashion marques found in Pavilion, the mall plays host to a wide range of mid-range fashion boutiques such as Hat Attack, Rip Curl, Charles & Keith, Tropicana Life and more.
