MM2H Visa Permit

 

  • 10-year Social Visit Pass with Multiple Entry will be granted
  • Stay as long as you wish & leave Malaysia as you please
  • No minimum or maximum days of stay in a year
  • Renewable after 10 years
  • Parents can join you as dependents under a renewable long term visa (6 months)

 

Parents' Special Visa
Your parents who are over 60-year old will be eligible to live in Malaysia under a special 6-month social visit visa renewable as long as your MM2H Pass is valid.

 

Application Procedure

 

Application for the MM2H programme can be made via any of the following channels:

 

Authorised Sponsor Companies
Application can be made through a number of private Malaysian companies, known as "sponsors", which offer application and follow-up services to foreigners. While the fees charged and services rendered can vary drastically from one sponsor to another, only authorised companies licensed by the Ministry of Tourism can provide such services to MM2H participants. (All sponsor licenses previously issued by the Immigration Department of Malaysia are no longer valid.)

 

Personal Application
As from January 2009 the Malaysian government will allow individual applications. Applicants no longer need to use Agents, or any 3rd parties. Applications for those wishing to reside in Peninsula Malaysia are accepted at the MM2H One-Stop centre in Kuala Lumpur. Where the applicant wishes to reside in the states of Sabah or Sarawak, applications need to be sent to the respective Immigration offices or MM2H One-Stop centres.

 

Language Documentation
All documents can be presented in English. The required documents are listed on the English language government site: www.mm2h.gov.my Applicants can apply themselves, Do It Yourself (called direct applications), or appoint an agent. There are many agents charging MYR8,000 – MYR10,000 as well as several low-cost agents charging about MYR1,800 per couple.

Application Procedure for Bringing In Personal Belongings

 

  • The importer is the owner of the household effects and personal effects.
  • Household effects
  • The goods have been used for a period of not less than 3 months.
  • The goods will not be disposed of within 3 months after date of importation into Malaysia.
  • Household effects referred to the following items or goods belonging to the owner:
  • Coockery and cutlery
  • Furniture
  • Beddings / curtains
  • Pictures / wall paintings
  • Electrical kitchens and garden appliances such as kettle, lawn mower, TV, radio / DVD
  • Importer must declare Customs Form No. 1 (K1) according to the following tariff codes :
  • 9800.00 400 Used Personal Effects
  • 9800.00 500 Used Household Effects
  • Please note that certain items require a permit/license before it can be imported into Malaysia.

Duty Free Cars

 

The process of importation of car can begin as soon as your Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) visa is being stamped. You will be given exemptions on import duty and excise duty tax when you bring in your own personal car and when you and when you purchase a locally-assembled car.

 

Note

 

  • A personal vehicle has to be imported into Malaysia within 6 months from the date of endorsement of MM2H Visa.
  • Purchase of locally-assembled car has to be completed within 12 months from the endorsement of the MM2H Visa.
